“Courage doesn't happen when you have all the answers. It happens when you are ready to face the questions...”
― Shannon L. Adler
I am a qualified and experienced therapist working in Dublin. I work with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, stress, emotional and relationship difficulties, sexual issues, sexual abuse, body image and low self-esteem, personal development, anger etc. I also have particular knowledge of OCD behaviours, obsessive and intrusive thoughts, and body focused behaviours (trichotillomania, skin picking and body dysmorphia).
I provide a warm, welcoming and safe space for my clients to discuss their issues in confidence. I use an integrative approach to therapy i.e. there is no one size fits all.
I engage a range of practices, tailored for each client's needs. At its core my approach remains Person-Centred, focusing on listening, supporting, encouraging and understanding. I believe that by allowing my clients to be themselves and accept themselves, they can then work towards growth, change and development. It is this supportive and healing space that I offer my clients.
“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.”
― Carl R. Rogers, On Becoming a Person: A Therapist's View of Psychotherapy
